Historic Games on the Parade Ground

Experience history through play during an afternoon of games and leisure activities enjoyed throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. Visitors can try their hand at croquet, battledore and shuttlecock, graces, hoops, cornhole, tabletop games, and perhaps a few surprises.

Volunteers wearing period clothing will share stories and portray life between 1845 and 1945. Tents, seating, drinking water, and historic games will be provided. Visitors are welcome to bring refreshments and enjoy a picnic on the Vancouver Barracks Parade Ground. Whether you want to discover a game from the past or simply spend a relaxing afternoon outdoors, we hope you will join us!
