Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how QwestLyfe ("QwestLyfe", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, apps, and related services (the "Service"). By using QwestLyfe you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide to us directly, including:
- Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), and authentication identifiers from third-party sign-in providers.
- Profile information: display name, avatar, bio, and any public profile details you choose to share on your LyfeSite.
- Content you create: lists, collections, items, reviews, synopses, recipes, postcards, qwestlogs, maps, photos, and other media you upload to the Service.
- Location data: place names, coordinates, and addresses you attach to list items, maps, or postcards. We do not track your real-time device location.
- Activity data: items you complete, badges you earn, lists you follow, friends you connect with, and engagement with other users' content.
- Payment information: when you purchase credits or a paid tier, payment details are collected and processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: messages you send to our admin team, support requests, and feedback.
We also automatically collect limited technical information when you use the Service, such as browser type, device type, IP address, referring URLs, and basic analytics about page views and feature usage.
How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your account.
- Power features that depend on your content, including AI-generated reviews, synopses, recipes, maps, postcards, and other generated content.
- Display your public content on your LyfeSite, in Explore, and to other users based on the visibility settings you choose.
- Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, invites, billing receipts, and admin replies).
- Personalize your experience, recommend lists, surface friends' activity, and measure feature usage.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms.
Public vs. private content
QwestLyfe is designed for sharing. The following content is intended to be publicly visible to anyone on the internet, including search engines:
- Your public LyfeSite profile and anything you publish there.
- Lists, collections, items, reviews, synopses, recipes, postcards, qwestlogs, and maps that you mark as Public.
- Your display name, avatar, badges, and overall activity totals.
Content you mark Private is visible only to you (and to friends if you explicitly share with them). You can change visibility at any time, but please assume any content you have ever set to public may have been viewed, cached, indexed, or shared by others.
AI-generated content
When you use AI features to generate content (reviews, synopses, recipes, maps, etc.), the inputs you provide are sent to our AI provider through the Lovable AI Gateway for processing. We do not use your private content to train third-party models, and inputs are subject to the AI provider's standard processing policies.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run QwestLyfe:
- Authentication: Google sign-in (and other OAuth providers you may use) authenticate you and share basic profile information with us.
- Hosting & database: our backend infrastructure stores account data, content, and media uploads.
- Payments: Stripe processes payments for credits and paid tiers. Their privacy policy governs that processing.
- Maps: map tiles and geocoding are provided by third-party map services. Loading a map page may share your IP address with those providers.
- Email delivery: transactional emails are delivered through an email service provider on our behalf.
- AI: generative AI features are powered by the Lovable AI Gateway and underlying model providers.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure basic usage. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser, but doing so will sign you out and reset your preferences.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- Publicly, where you have chosen to make content public.
- With the third-party service providers listed above, strictly to operate the Service.
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of QwestLyfe, our users, or the public.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
Data retention
We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Content you shared publicly may continue to exist in third-party caches, archives, or copies made by other users.
Your rights and choices
- Access & update: view and edit most of your information directly in Settings.
- Visibility: change any list, collection, or piece of content between public and private at any time.
- Export: request a copy of your data by contacting us.
- Deletion: delete individual content or your entire account from Settings, or by contacting us.
- Email preferences: unsubscribe from non-essential emails via the link in any message.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to processing or lodge a complaint with a regulator.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, scoped database access, and row-level security) to protect your information. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect your account has been compromised.
Children's privacy
QwestLyfe is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International users
QwestLyfe is operated from, and your information may be processed in, jurisdictions that may have different data-protection laws than your own. By using the Service you consent to that processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
