Acadia's trail network is a beloved feature of the Park, but how did it come to be? This 2.5 hour guided mountain hike celebrates the influential moments of trial and triumph that built Acadia. Traverse a fern-lined valley, ascend a network of carved stone staircases, and visit the site of the park's only remaining fire tower.
Important Visitor Information
- Toilets available in parking area, no running water or bottle fill stations. Please bring enough water to last through the hike.
- Limited to 19 participants.
- No dogs.
- Location: Location given upon registration.
- Trail conditions: Route includes rocky terrain, elevation gain, stone steps, rock staircases, scrambles, and occasional hazards along 2.3 miles of trail. Program is 2.5 hours long, visitors should be prepared to be on their feet for the majority of the time. Trail includes forested sections and open exposure to the elements. Slippery when wet. Alternate trail route for rain.
- What to bring: Insect repellent, water, sunscreen, good hiking shoes, layers/rain gear appropriate for the weather.
