Art in Park Program. "Geothermal Zoom: Into the Art

A workshop that blends geological and geothermal science and recognizes the aesthetic beauty of these mineral-rich, diverse ecosystems.

During this program, the public can observe my process of developing selective color palettes from the park's natural color schemes, and translating these layers and textures into abstract forms. I will discuss the intersection of geothermal science and abstract art, using a visual display of "zoomed-in" acrylic and oil paintings as the focal point.

To make this interactive, I will provide a designated station with watercolor palettes and small swatches of paper where visitors can experiment with creating their own color combinations inspired by the park's environment.
