People of these Mountains: Guided High Elevation Hike (Craggy Gardens Visitor Center - Milepost 364)

People have lived in these mountains for millennia. This guided hike explores changes that each group of people brought when they came to these mountains. Imagine what those who preceded us found and their goals as we celebrate the actions that preserved these lands for all of us.

The Hike

The hike will be approximately 1 mile out and back, and the trail is easy-to-moderate, on rocky terrain. Expect the trail to be slick, especially if there has been dense fog or rain recently.

You must wear closed-toed shoes appropriate for a trail walk. Please bring water and rain gear in case of a turn in the weather.

Weather

If there is light rain, the hike will continue if everyone is sufficiently prepared. In the event of thunder or other dangerous conditions, the hike will be canceled.
