From Hunters to Heroes: The Overmountain Men (Ranger Talk - Museum of North Carolina Minerals milepost 331)

Park Event · Blue Ridge Parkway · Oct 21, 2026 · 11:30 AM–12:00 PM

The ripple effect from our choices and actions may take weeks, months, even years to become fully apparent. Back in 1780, local militia from “over the mountains” in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia came together to change the course of history. Find out who these men were, how they lived, and how their actions affected the outcome of the American Revolution.

This 20-minute Ranger talk will be presented at the Museum of North Carolina Minerals (Parkway milepost 331).
