An old saying goes, "There's an Irishman buried in every mile of canal." Building the Ohio & Erie Canal was costly and not just in dollars, but in human capital.

Why do we not see these canal workers buried in our local cemeteries? Where are they and why? Join Park Ranger Rebecca Jones to explore the stories of these workers and where they sometimes wound up.
