Do bats do aerobatics when they’re not hanging around? Are owls actually wise? What’s the difference between diurnal, nocturnal, and crepuscular anyways? Have a hoot and an owl-right time as we spin some fun tales and learn about night creatures with our ranger-led talks!

The annual “Bats, Spiders, Owls – Oh My!” event is Thursday evening, October 22nd. This is a free event. Our event begins at 5:30 p.m. with tours running every twenty minutes. The first tour starts at 5:40 p.m. and the last tour starts at 7:20.

Rangers will be stationed at three stops on a ¼-mile walk presenting information, telling stories, and having interactive activities about bats, spiders, and owls.

Please bring a flashlight and wear sturdy shoes for walking on both bark chips and a graveled dirt trail. Weather conditions can quickly change so ensure you have rain gear if necessary. All-ages appropriate costumes to celebrate the season are encouraged, keeping in mind that conditions may be wet.

Enjoy crafts and treats inside the Fort Clatsop Visitor Center while you wait for your tour.
