The Ramblin’ Bald: Guided High Elevation Hike (Craggy Gardens Visitor Center - Milepost 364)

Come join a ranger for a guided hike in our changeable mountains! The land is always in flux, whether it’s seasonal flowers, deep geological time, or varied land use throughout human history. While hike topics may change from day to day, there is one constant throughout; the beauty unique to the high elevations on Blue Ridge Parkway!

The Hike

The hike will be approximately 1 mile out and back, and the trail is easy-to-moderate, on rocky terrain. Expect the trail to be slick, especially if there has been dense fog or rain recently. You must wear closed-toed shoes appropriate for a trail walk. Please bring water and rain gear in case of a turn in the weather.

Cancellations

If there is light rain, the hike will continue if everyone is sufficiently prepared. In the event of thunder or other dangerous conditions, the hike will be canceled.
