Star Party and Candlelight Hike

Experience the magic of the dunes after dark on a one-mile, easy trail glowing with lanterns to light your way.

Friends from the Grand Traverse Astronomical Society will also be onsite with telescopes to share about what's overhead.

Program Details

Arrive anytime between 9 pm and 10:30 pm to fully experience the program.

Parking

In the past, parking has been limited right at 9 pm, so coming a little later may guarantee a parking spot.

If the parking lot is full, visitors are encouraged to take a quiet drive to view Lake Michigan in Glen Haven (2 minutes north on M109), and then return in 15-20 minutes to find a spot.
