Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park

On Saturday and Sunday, September 12–13, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will present living history programs at Tour Stop 8, Snodgrass Hill.

The 3rd Kentucky Infantry, part of Col. Charles Harker’s Brigade, played a pivotal role in the Union defense of Snodgrass Hill during the long and bloody afternoon of September 20, 1863. One soldier later recalled it as “the hardest fighting there ever was.”

Join a Park Ranger and living historians for 30‑minute programs to hear the stories of the men of the 3rd Kentucky and see demonstrations of their drill and battlefield movements during the Battle of Chickamauga.

Program Times

  • Saturday at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
