During World War I, the Quincy Smelter was secured and its workers vetted for national security passes. Use their waterfront passes to explore the smelter grounds and reflect upon the Copper Country’s industrial response to the Great War.

Meet at the Quincy Smelter parking lot. Participants will remain outside of smelter buildings and are required to wear hard hats while inside the smelter fence. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. Only task-trained service animals are permitted inside the fenced area.

Ranger programs last about one hour. Accommodations are available upon request. Water and sunscreen are recommended. In the event of inclement weather or unexpected events, programs will be modified or cancelled. Program topics subject to change based on staffing needs.
