An 1858 painting of the battle of Long Island. Soldiers swarming around a colonial era house
Alonzo Chappel, Battle of Long Island, 1858

It is a dark time for the Rebellion. Although the town of Boston has been liberated, British Imperial troops have landed in New York, and have their sights set on cutting the rebellious colonies in half.

Evading the dreaded Imperial fleet, a force of Patriots led by George Washington have established a new base on Brooklyn Heights. The "evil" Lord William Howe, obsessed with defeating Washington, has dispatched thousands of foreign soldiers to aid in his capture of the strategic city.

Join park rangers portraying Continental and Hessian soldiers to learn about each side's perspective during the largest land battle of the American Revolutionary War.
